How to use a standard static page as your front page or home page, instead of the fancy widgetized homepage the StudioPress demo uses.
If you remove the widgets from the widget areas named Home or Front Page in your StudioPress theme, the widgetized front page will not be used. You can use any other page from your site.
If you want your site to have a blog page you will have to make a blog page.
To disable the widgetized front page and set any other page as the front page of your website…
- Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets
- Drag all widgets in the Home or Front Page Widget areas, in to the Inactive Widgets area. The inactive Widgets area is at the bottom of the widgets page.
Then go to Settings > Reading.
- In the Front page displays option, choose: A Static Page
- Choose the page to use as your front page.
If you’ve already made a blog page you can choose that from the posts page drop down list.
Save your settings.
