After installing the Genesis Portfolio Pro plugin, all I need to do is go to…
Dashboard > Portfolio Items > Add New.
I then make a portfolio item. This is very similar to making a blog post.
The images that appear on the portfolio page are featured images. If you do not assign a featured image to your portfolio item, it will not appear on your portfolio page. Even if you include a large image at the top of the post when you make a new portfolio item.

- A print design portfolio.
- And a web design portfolio.

Making several Portfolio pages with Genesis Portfolio Pro plugin
The Genesis Portfolio Pro plugin has one built in portfolio page. I showed you how to use this in the first video. In the second video I show you how to add several different portfolios to your site.
For instance you could have a portfolio of business cards you’ve designed and a portfolio of websites you’ve designed.
In my case I need to make three portfolios of watercolor paintings. I need a portfolio of cars I’ve painted, a portfolio of vans I’ve painted and a portfolio of bikes I’ve painted.
To make a new portfolio all you have to do is make a new Portfolio Type and then assign some Portfolio Items to that Portfolio Type.

To add an Archive Headline and some Archive Intro text. Go to…
- Dashboard > Portfolio Items > Portfolio Types
- Hover over a Portfolio Type
- Click the Edit link
To find the URL click the View option.
To add links in your navbar to your portfolios, go to Appearance > Menus and add a custom link using the link you just found.
As you can see Genesis Portfolio Pro plugin is easy to use and produces really nice looking portfolios for your website. If you use Genesis I highly recommend this plugin.
